A Hard Top Pillow for a Laptop

I’ve been want­ing a hard top pil­low for my net­book for quite a while now.

I found the Log­itech Com­fort Lapdesk, and you have to admit, it looks great:

I went to the near­est, and prac­ti­cally the only, shop that sells these, and costs almost $100. Yea, $100 for a pil­low with a hard top.

So for a few weeks I strug­gled with the idea that I’m going to spend that amount on a pil­low with a hard top, this kind of things I usu­ally buy, I like high qual­ity stuff, and I know it will serve me for a long time as I’m used to take care of my crap, so my stuff usu­ally last.

Today I went to a DIY shop, and saw a small wood piece, about 22 inches in width, 15 inches in height and 1 inch thick.

Next I picked up a 26 – 27 inches wide towel-like rug (we use them as tugs for the bath tub), it’s around 40 inches long, and has a very soft texture.

I have a sta­ple gun ready at home, and also picked up a adhe­sive wall­pa­per, the kind you put on fur­ni­ture that you don’t want to paint, but you want them to look a lit­tle better.

After sit­ting for about an hour with the sta­ple gun, and round­ing the edges of the wooden board, stick­ing some wall­pa­per on top, I’ve man­aged to cre­ate a neat look­ing and extremely use­ful hard-top pil­low for my netbook.

• $6 Wood Board x 1
• $9 Foot Towel x 1
• $8 Pil­low x 1
• $0.5 Worth of Adhe­sive Wallpaper
• Less then $1 Sta­ples for the sta­ple gun
• 1 Hour or less to make
